As part of Stylophone 50th anniversary celebration, we have entered an extract from our concept album ‘MEDIA OS 5.1‘ to their competition judged by Tony Visconti and the Dubreq Team. We used their original Stylophone S-1 as the main melody maker for the song “Material Gain.”

MEDIA OS 5.1 is a multi-media concept performance in 5.1 surround sound. The piece discusses the present overconsumption of digital information and its entertaining, yet beguiling effects on human behavior. It also addresses the consequences that an oppressive society has upon the modern day worker.
The performance of contemporary music and synchronised moving imagery encompasses of 7 Musicians – Vocals, Guitars, Bass, Piano, Synthesizers, Drums, Cello and digital sequencing. The band will perform behind a projection net so that the visual focus is on the moving imagery and the spatially crafted sonic environment.
10 Bespoke films have been developed for the individual songs, and informed by their lyrical content. Each one of the films is unique, but collectively form a story arc.
The audience will be immersed inside a surround sound system and encouraged to interact with the performance using their personal information technologies (Smartphones/Tablets).
